Transparency Statement

Journal of Economics and Development (JED) is committed to transparency in every stage of the editorial and publishing process, in line with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made solely by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board on the basis of the manuscript’s academic merit, as assessed through the peer review process, independent of any commercial or institutional influence.

2. Conflicts of interest
Authors, reviewers and editors are required to disclose any financial, professional or personal relationship that could be perceived as a conflict of interest in relation to a submitted manuscript. See the journal’s Publishing Ethics page for full requirements.

3. Funding and ownership
JED is owned by the National Economics University and published on its behalf by Emerald Publishing. There is no charge to authors for publishing an Open Access article in JED (platinum Open Access); publishing costs are covered by the National Economics University.

4. Corrections and retractions
Errors identified after publication are corrected transparently through a published erratum or, where the integrity of the research is affected, a formal retraction, following COPE guidelines.

5. Complaints
Complaints or concerns about the editorial or peer review process may be sent to the Editorial Office (see the Contact Us page) and will be handled following COPE’s complaints-handling guidance.
